  1. So many but one of my favourites is Washpool/Gibralter. World heritage listed rainforest on side of mountains (Washpool) and world heritage listed sub-alpine heath on the other dominated with large and crazy natural rock sculptures (Gibralter).  Very beautfiul and impressive.

  2. The blue mountains are incredible there are heaps of walks and the scenery is incredible it's also easy to get to by train

if travelling a distance is no issue the warrumbungles national park near coonabarabran is also quite spectacular with really cool ancient volcanic formations that are unique

  3. I've only been to two national parks and the one I love is the Royal National Park. It's just south of Sydney near the Shire.

There's lots to see there with a huge variety of terrains. From bush land to sand to rocks!

If you haven't been there, I recommend you do! Just drive along the Princes Hwy, heading south and look out for the signs, leading into it.

Sorry, that's all I can think of now. Hope it helps anyway.

  4. The Warrenbungle National Park, near Coonabarabran, great walks, lots of kangaroos, power sites for camping, just love it

  5. Myall Lakes National Park is beautiful and unique. A houseboat holiday on the lakes would have to be one of NSWs most memorable experiences. Coastal, lake and river fishing: 4WD beach access and good campsites - most are only reachable by boat so they're peaceful and you can really appreciate the beauty of the place.

  6. Depends what your after.

My favourite to date is Mungo National park because you feel like you must be on the moon due to the scenery. It is just superb.

Royal national is to boring and that goes with Lane cove national also. IT doesn't have the diversity of others. If I was going to be int hat area I'd go for a good trek through Heathcote national. You can cover the whole park within a few days and is not over crowded.

I live in the Blue mountains and I suppose the park is interesting and has some great reasons for visiting but.... further west is more interesting. If going to the blue mountaisn it takes about 1 hour of walking to get in to an area which is not over crowded and has lots of interesting bird life and trees.

As I said- allow us to know what your interest is and more info is easy.

  7. Close to Sydney - Blue Mountains, Royal, Ku-ring-gai.

Futher away from Sydney - Warrumbungles (a definate ... magnificent place), Morton, Mt Warning (close to the Gold Coast), Dorrigo (great rainforests).
