I would have to say Water Polo. I mean constant swimming and people trying to drown you. From what I have seen it seems really tough. Your thoughts?

  1. Weightlifting.  Seeing a 61kg tiny man lift 180kg boggles the mind.

  2. the toughest olympic sport in the olympics according to me is the 100-metre mens race finals.though not violent competition is just too high.

  3. Gymnastics.

You could really injure yourself on a fall. One girl I heard broke both of her arms on her way down off beam.

  4. I would go with water polo as well.

    or the parallel bars.

  5. for me, it is swimming, butterfly or freestyle. seeing people do flapping and flapping underwater for 350m. is really stressful, especially when you're watching your country's representative.

  6. Ones that can't be rigged such as the swim races that are based on times and not on the opinions of judges.

  7. I think they're all pretty difficult under that kind of pressure but I would agree that water polo would be especially tough. Also gymnastics. I also think syncronized diving would be a very difficult thing to do because you can never control what theother person does but you must be exactly the same.

  8. speed walking is the toughest. Who likes to walk?

  9. Table Tennis. That sport gets so intense

  10. I guess it depends on what you mean by toughest.

The toughest physically in team sports is soccer.  This has been proven before.

The toughest physically as a solo performer is nearly impossible to tell.  Most of the athletes train incredibly hard to get to where they are.  I would almost have to say gymnastics because of the amount of injuries they get while training.

The toughest to watch because it's almost comical that it is an olympic sport has to be badminton.

  11. The decathlon, 10 grueling events in two days.

  12. gymnastics

  13. Long distance running.

    Or badminton.

  14. No Gymnastics. You have to practice for ten or more hours a day every day and the pressure is the most intense out of all the olympic sports. It's not like if you make a mistake it's ok- any mistakes you make will haunt you forever. Very tough

  15. most def. speed walking....u cn't just bust into a low key jog cuz the judges r everywhere!!!! this sport is freakin intense!!!!

  16. mm i agree, but weightlifting also has to be tough, i mean they lift things heavier then them above their heads!! and sometimes they cant pick it up coz their hands slip.. that happened to a colombian, it was heartbreaking to watch :(

  17. Triathlon or Decathlon for sure pretty gruelling and long

  18. 4 sure gymnastics!!!

  19. I think water polo is tough.  Also I have heard it mentioned that rowing is the toughest event physically in the Olympics.  I would have to agree with that.

  20. I hear fencing is pretty tough.  The sword thingee probably gets heavy after awhile.

  21. gymnastics definitely

you can't just be born and be good at gymnastics, it requires years and years of training.

unlike some other sports some people are just good at it naturally like golf, basketball, etc

  22. Toughest is a pretty difficult word to qualify.  I have the most respect for triathlon and marathon runners, because endurance is one of the hardest characteristics in sports to keep.  If one builds muscles, flexibility, or short distance speed, they will still be able to perform relatively well should they take off for a little while. Not that many of the athletes do, just that they can.  Endurance is lost quickly over time.  If an athlete goes away from daily running for a week to a month, he or she will lose a good amount of that endurance that they worked so hard to build up.

  23. Water polo - yes, there's so much assault going under the water.

Hockey - people with sticks: not pretty. An Australian hockeyroo just whacked a Sth African yesterday in the face and she had to be stretched out. There goes her eye/nose!

Equestrian - potentially deadly in the jumps, for both horse and rider.

  24. Yep water polos pretty tough, but id say the marathon is. Dont you think, your running for couple hours as fast as you can

  25. Cycling....road race.

imagine pedalling your guts out for six hours and then trying to sprint to the finish line???

That and archery...tough on the nose !

  26. I think all the sports are demanding not only physically but mentally as well.

  27. Gymnastic, Synchronized diving, Triathlon or Decathlo
