World class players were produced around the globe. USA produced the most number of Pool players. Popular players were there from USA, Europe, Japan, Taiwan and finally.......PHILIPPINES!!! .. I have read of many arguments already... But I keep wondering what many Pool fans thought to be the best players in the world?

Many championships were held already like WPC, IPT, etc..

Mosconi Cup were played between European team and USA team only. Last year the first World Cup of Pool was held in England in which I believe could show the best team in the world...... what do you think???

explain your answers.

  1. I would say Reyes.

  2. I will be... Someday, Watchout world!!!!, the next champ is right here...... answering questions

  3. Bata is the best

English Pool players I dont think so

VERY Good point Jay thats why I say there is no money in pro pool for a Road player

as far as unknown when I was out I didnt even use the same name over 2-3 times

  4. djkx1 seems to be on top of things when it comes to "known" players. And makes a very good argument.

But I still submit that some of the best players around the globe are "unknown" and want to keep it that way because they can make more money hustling than from tournaments.

Like Don Willis. Willis never played a tournament yet beat every "Known" player out of money.

He was the original "Cincinnati Kid".

Willis beat Erwin Rudolph, Bobby Moore, Jimmy Caras, Willie Mosconi, Ralph Greenleaf and Cowboy Jimmy Moore among other.

  5. I like to watch trick shot and Stephno Plinga is the best trick shot artist i know of.

  6. Judging simply by who is winning more tournaments, it is apparent that the Phillipines has produce the most great palyers in the last several years. There is a long list of Fillipinos that are capable of winning any major.

Players from Germany have also been doing a lot of damage at tourneys around the world. With players like Hohmann, Souquet, Engert, Ortmann, etc. they are formidable, especially if you include 14.1(straight pool)

In the last couple of years however the Taiwanese have been the most improved and are quickly gaining ground. In the recent Asian 9-ball tour they have won nearly everything and the Fillipinos have taken a back seat to players like Yang, Choa, and Chang, not to mention Wu.

There are several promising young American players, none more so than Shane Van Boening, however the US is falling behind IMO. A lot of countries have national teams, funding, training programs etc. They simply put more into it, and they will get more out of it.
