Which Port is nicer? Freeport or Half Moon Cay? Which one would you choose to cruise to?

I like the privately owned secluded beaches, so far they have been my favorite.  I visited Castaway Cay when I took a Disney Cruise a few years ago.  I absolutely loved it.  The islands owned by the cruise lines always have activites set up for you to do as well as food on the island provided for you (free).  From what I know about Half Moon Cay I know i would love it too.  I would definately ~hands down~ choose the private island of Half Moon Cay. Have fun on your cruise.

Freeport had some shopping and the excursions were like every other port.  I wasn't too excited about this port of call, itself.  The town is busy, dirty,  and full of folks trying to sell you T-shirts, cigars, weed, and shot glasses.

I personally prefer a beach anyway and would probably be  more excited about a destination that looked more like a Carona commercial, and less like the city I live in now.

I would pick a cruise line's privately-owned island any day! I have been to CocoCay, the little island owned by Royal Caribbean, a couple of times and if lying in a hammock under a palm tree is what you like, THAT's your pick! There are also other activities you can choose if you want, or you don't have to do anything at all. Those have been my favorite memories from my four cruises thus far.

Good question, although it depends on opinion for a definite answer.

Half Moon Cay is an island owned by Carnival Cruise Lines. Obviously, you can sit on the beach all day. In addition, you can swim, scuba dive, jet ski, windsurf, kayak, and snorkel. There are also a volleyball and other sport courts.

Freeport is a city, smaller than Nassua, however. There are markets (much as in Nassua) and restorants.

Overall, if you want a day on the beach, Half Moon Cay is better. If you want to walk around and shop, Freeport.

I've been to half moon cay. The beach is lovely, the water is spectacular. There is NOTHING to do there except lay on the beach. This could be a good thing or a bad thing depending on what you want from the day.
