  1. gas rpices are not determined by presidents.

  2. Presidents don't determine gas prices. FYI , Gas prices are starting to drop again. In MA it has gone from $4.21 a few weeks ago to $3.55 today. If we go with your theory , I guess the answer is Bush since he is still in office and gas prices are dropping ... hmm.

  3. Well the oil companies gave money to McCain and if prices go down that means less profit for the companies.

  4. I'll go out on a limb here and say....Congress?  If they enact the right legislation.

  5. McCain: pro-nuclear power.  Obama: anti.

    McCain: pro-offshore drilling.  Obama: anti.

    McCain: pro-ANWAR drilling.  Obama: anti.

Obama: pro-taxing profits on American oil companies.  McCain: anti.

Add that up: McCain is more likely to reduce the cost of energy in this country.

  6. Presidents don't determine the price of ANYTHING.  The market does.  A simple economics class will teach you this.  It's called, "supply and demand".

  7. There's not a lot either of them can do to lower gas prices.

I'm not sure if many people know this, but the U.S. president isn't responsible for the world's gas prices... We aren't the only country dealing with high fuel prices either.

  8. Actually, it might take a rocket scientist.  Neither will be able to do it during their term, even if they get re-elected.  McCain's solution is to drill more and now, which won't benefit us for at least 8 years (and I am being nice), if it brings down the price at all.  Obama wants to go the route of investing in alternative fuels.  Again, this will take a long period of time to pan out -- longer than Obama's term in office would be.  To see which one will benefit in the long run, anyone's guess is just that.  A guess.  Personally, I see alternative fuels at a solid 21st century solution.  But I am not an expert in the matter by far.

  9. I'm sure tired of the high gas prices. Someone told me about this site which gives away free gift cards for gas. I can really recommend it.

  10. Do you remember Jimmy Carter?  Do you remember waiting in gas lines for three hours?  Do you think Jimmy Carter had any control over the gas crisis?

Do you think George Bush has any control over it?

Here's what will lower gas prices---more gas.  Gas price is a function of supply and demand.   The more supply, the lower the price.  The more demand the higher the prices.  The more supply, the lower the demand. It's simple economics.

So, If you want lower gas prices, you will pick the guy that will most likely do things that increase supply.  The president that allows more oil drilling will most likely lower gas prices.

HINT:  Obama will pander to the environmentalists and not allow more drilling.

  11. Neither one can do anything about gas prices.

  12. McCain

You mean raising taxes on oil companies won't bring gas prices down?

Now you're going to get a ton of lessons in oil refining.  How it will take years to end up in your car.

  13. Well...lets see. Bush (a Republican) has been in office for 7.5 years and gas prices have risen 40 cents per year average to an ALL TIME HIGH.

I think we can rule out the Republicans.

    Now...who else is left?
