Just wondering which is better for games?

Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 CPU or

Intel Core 2 Duo E6850 ???

that is like the most use quad EVER. the q6600 its very good though

The Quad of course. Are 4 processing units better than 2? I think so!

Quad - I've found the Duo to only be better at multi-tasing rather than stand alone apps.

          the Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 CPU is by far the better processor,however dont dismiss the Core 2 Duo E6850,this is still a extremely strong and powerful processor and is also very good for gaming

          however allthough these cpu,s are excellent and very fast the AMD phenom processor are in my opinion the better and faster gaming processors,and are also better value aswell

            with a 2.6ghz clock speed this is easy overclokable to 3.0ghz and beyond,and these are excellent for gaming especially when combined with a Sapphire HD 4870 X2 2GB PCI-E2.0(http://www.aria.co.uk/Products/Component... is a amazingly fast card,and is even faster than the gtx280,in benchmarks it makes light work of demanding games like crysis and age of conan at high resolutions and with maximum filtering applied

            if gaming is what you like doing then this is the hardware you need,forget intel go phenom
