Question:

Which RAM to install for Sony PCV-RZ504?

I need to install PC-3200 RAM, it has 2 banks and 4 sockets.

At the moment I have 1GB of RAM and want to upgrade to its maximum of 2GB.

Am I right in thinking that to do this I have to buy 2x 512MB, because according to one Sony site "to max out your RAM memory, add the maximum amount of memory to each memory socket.To find out how much RAM each socket can support, divide the system maximum RAM amount by the total number of sockets in your system."

I just want to clarify on that, and also does anyone have a guide to install it in this kind of desktop and what s***w-driver do I need to open the case up (it has very weird screws!)

Thanks

  2. i believe... you just shove it into the slot, and i dont know what the s***w driver is called

    4x512mb = 2gb

  3. The screws in the back of the case are probably security screws. And you will need a security screwdriver set. Ram is easy to install you just pop out the ram from its slots by opening the clips on the side of the slot and push in the new ones.

  4. If you want to see what type of RAM is supported by your computer, go to http://www.crucial.com and run the system scanner.

    It will show what type of RAM, how much RAM, and answers any other questiong you might have while giving you all the details about you RAM capacity. You can also buy the RAM from there if you're interested.

    Hope that helps.
