all ROTC contracts incur at least  a 4-5 year military obligation, regardless of whether you get a 2, 3 or 4 year scholarship.  some communities require six years or more (like Aviation)

All ROTC commissions, regardless of service, are for 4 years active duty, 4 years reserve.

Both Mrs. JVB and MVS are right. . .  There is a minimum of 4 years of Active Duty required.  If you only do 4 years AD, then you will be required to serve 4 years of inactive reserves.   Navigators and Pilots in the AF have a longer commitment.
