  1. I'd suggest going to the warmer climate during the winter and if it was the summer, then head to Bermuda.  Try this site for some travel deals that you can compare prices.  iBtraveling.com  Wish you luck there.  Either cruise will be awesome.

  2. I think the answer to this depends upon what type cruise experience you want.  Cruises to the Bahamas (with no other islands included) are typically 3, 4, or 5 days leaving from Florida and include a stop at a private island for the cruise line.  When you go to the Bahamas you have the opportunity to shop at the Straw Market for crafts, tour the island, go to Paradise Island to see the new Atlantis Hotel & its aquarium, go on a glass bottom boat ride, and maybe get in some beach time to swim, snorkel, scuba, para-sail, etc.  Then overnight the ship sails to the private island and the next day you get off and enjoy the beach, a beach party, and more water sports.

Cruises to Bermuda may leave from Boston, Bayonne, NY, Philly, Baltimore, Norfolk, Charleston, SC, or Florida ports.  These cruises are typically 5, 6, or 7 days (therefore longer than Bahamas cruises) and the first day of the cruise is an "at sea" day in route to Bermuda.  The cruise will likely also have an "at sea" day cruising back from where it started.  When you get to Bermuda you will dock at one or more of three places.  The main port stop is in the town of Hamilton; when you dock there you are right on the town's main street.  Another port stop is St George; its like a small New England fishing village with a town square, a few shops and you can walk about a mile to Tobacco Bay Beach for snorkeling, Ft Catherine for sightseeing, or another beach by the fort.  The third place that ships dock is The Kings Wharf (also called the Royal Dockyard) where there is a museum, a small beach,  a small shopping mall, and a bus and ferry stop.

Some ships dock and stay in one place but regardless you are on a small island that is 22 miles long and can be see by bus and ferry without going on a tour.  You can take the bus to the beaches; you buy  a 3 day transportation pass and can ride the bus and ferry all you want.  The island has NO slums and is very safe for tourists, compared to the Bahamas.  There is no straw market and the main things to do are to go to and enjoy beach activities, or play golf.

So if you want a longer cruise, relaxing days at sea, a beautiful and safe island, and the most beautiful pink sand beaches, go to Bermuda.  If you want a shorter (also probably less expensive) cruise that provides beach fun and what I call an introduction to cruising (shorter cruise), then go to the Bahamas.

I have been to both places. The Bahamas was my first and it was a 4 day cruise.  Since the I have been to Bermuda twice; the last time on RC's Empress just 2 years ago.  I like at sea days because they are really relaxing.

The air temperature in both places will be pleasant, but the water temperatures will be pretty cool.

  4. If you are going in January - go to the Bahamas.  Bermuda weather will be too cold for swimming - most beaches will be closed.  I've been both places on cruises - and they are both great.  Bermuda is best to go between May-September.

  5. well i would rather go to the bahamas, not the bermuda triangle

  6. The Bermuda probably .  Bermuda is a higher end destination, and the Bahamas cruises are the entry level cruises, which means they are not the best.  There is some interesting stuff to see, and there is a private island stop on the Bahamas cruises, so they are nice, but probably not as nice as the Bermuda cruises.

UNLESS you want to swim and snorkle.  In the winter, swimming and snorkeling in Bermuda is not happening!  The water and temperatures are too cold.  Bermuda is not sub-tropical, the Bahamas is, so keep that in mind.

You'll have a great time with either one.
