Which SUVs are the most reliable, have the best ride, and are low maintenance?

of the ones and years that you list i'd say the xterra.  as you get newer, the 'average' reliability ones surpass the old ones.

These are all fairly good as far as miledge but as for comfort and room the chevy suburban 2001 or newer is great also you will get 20 mpg on the high way but not nearly that good around town, imagine driving your living room  sweet!

The Pathfinder is going to win ride quality, and will be ranked right up there in reliabilty

The Pathfinder has a timing chain rather than a timing belt.  This will save you $500 - $900 when the comes to change the timing belt on the other models.  Seating posture is low on the 4runner and they are known to build up sludge in the engine.  CRV doesn't have very good noise insulation.  Xterra's ride quality is so-so.  Tribute/Escape aren't very stylish and have low resale value.
