  1. The best ones I ever used were Snap-On's reversible wire twisters.  They had a smooth grip so they wouldn't scratch the wire, the rubber grip to catch the wire, and of course they were reversible.

They were good until some a**hole stole them.  Now I just use 45 degree long nose pliers.

  2. I got mine from Snap on. They are the reversible type and work great.  Don't go cheep.  You'll regret it in the long term plus it will just cost more to buy another pair.

  3. True - Snap-on pliers -the best but not Steal-free. C0-workers in UAE had China  made and it won't spring back after a couple of years use.

  4. SnapOn, is best I've used.  Until someone stole mine too.  I had a Harbor Freight pair as a backup and have been using them ever since.  I liked them so much I bought another set as a backup.

You might also think about getting http://www.aircraftspruce.com/catalog/to...

SnapOn is way better but the HF isn't as bad as some people think.  They are still better than nothing.  I still get SnapOn owners borrowing my HF pliers because their's is locked up somewhere.

If I were you, I'd get a HF pair http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/ctaf/Di... It's only $8.00!  If you still feel the need to get a better pair, like a $100.00 SnapOn, you'll still have the HF for a back up or a set a set to keep in your tool bag.

If some one finds your SnapOn tool, you'll probably never see it again.  If someone finds your "Made in Taiwan" tool, you'll almost always get it back.

  5. milbar one word of advice never buy harbor frieght!!

  6. I second the Milbar recommendation.  A bit more costly than some, but very nicely made.  I've had one of theirs in my tool box for many years.

  7. a true mechanic will use his fingers and some d**e's lol

  8. I prefer the MIlbar brand.  I used them for over 20 years and never had a problem.  I suggest that you install a bearing assy on the handle end. It makes them a lot easier on your hand and easier to use.

  9. Harbor freight does not have high quality tools for the most part. If you want something that will hold up to a lot of use, I would shop for a good brand that will serve you well for a lng time. It will cost a little more up front but will be worth is in the long run. Professional mechanics do not buy cheap tools.
