i recently went on the school ski trip and am considering going again. we ski 5 hours per day with an instructor but we were in groups of 12-13 so we had to wait for everyone to catch up. My friend asked me if i would like to go skiing with her dad and his girlfriend so she'll have someone to ski with. Is it better to ski with a large group of people or with just one person?

  1. If you are there to have a good time with your friends, I would say that a large group is better. If you are there to learn to ski and still have a ton of fun go in a small group.

  2. I think its better one person. That way you have no one to wait for and you can pretty much do your own thing. Skiing in a big group can be tiring when you have to stop and wait for the people.

  3. just one person that way theres no waiting up and it'll be less crowded.

  4. You will not receive instruction skiing with friends.  If you are a beginner, lessons are important so you will not develop bad habits.  On the other hand, skiing with a friend is fun.  A good compromise would be to take class lessons for a couple of hours and ski with your friend for the rest.  Or, if you and your friend are a similar standard, you could take a lesson together.

  5. skiing in small groups is infinitly better because the slopes are less crowded so theres less running into people.  you have to wait less because less people fall. the instuctors can focus more on just teaching you than teachng the whole group together.  although off the mountain is more fun with more people, a small group is definitly better on the mountain

  6. Depends.  If you like the social thing, then the larger group is quite fun.

If you're skiing with just one or two other people you need to be happy they're a similar level to you or you'll be waiting for each other, which will feel more frustrating.

  7. definitely a small group. Think of all the extra space, reducing the risk of injury and having a great time.
