  1. b) is less true than A).  150-160 ft. elevation can hardly be considered a high altitude plateau, and it's only 16.5 miles to the Med as the crow flies.  Galley slaves, however, would disagree with "easy access".

  2. Rome is a costal city. Has a port. Milan is in the mountains.

  3. Neither are true.  B is definitely not true.  Rome is only about 400 feet above sea level and not among mountains.

  4. B. Is NOT true.  Most of Rome is at elevations less than 200 feet, but is surrounded by some higher hills (about 300-400 feet elevation).  These are NOT barriers and Rome is certainly not on a high Altitude Plateau since the elevation is mostly less than 200 feet.

    A. IS TRUE....Rome is in the middle of Italy (from North to South -- not east to west) and only 15-16 miles from the Mediterranean Sea.

  5. B: not true

  6. I would think B but I do know that Rome was not directly on the Sea, it was/is on a river, which helped it from pirates and the like.  So I would have to say A.
