Which tree species is most likely to cause clay sub soil problems?

  1. Subsoil problems are more likely to be caused by geologic and meteorologic factors than by trees.


  2. Oak trees.

  3. Any tree with a shallow root system can cause problems if you are talking about your foundation.  Bald Cypress in my experience has been a culprit as well as cottonwoods.

  7. Pine trees, both Yellow and Jeffery, can cause many problems.  I have cut them all down on my 4 acres.  About 350 in all.
