  1. The Panasonic plasma wins, hands down, as I explained to you when you last asked this exact question. The guy who answered 'the Proscan' doesn't know what he's talking about.

    Again, you need to do some reading! Start with the 3/08 HDTV article in Consumer Reports, available at your local library. Pay attention to the 'reliability' section.


  2. 1080p LCD is better because of the higher resolution and a 720p resolution still has to be down-converted from 1080p for Blueray and the fact that it is plasma also means it is more expensive to operate because it uses more electricity.  Another downside to plasma is because even through the color is more vivid when you buy it, it loses that color more rapidly than LCD or DLP.

    To the naked eye, 1080p and 720p pictures do look the same, but when you see a lot of motion on the screen, I think the 1080p refreshes better and has less blurriness, but you have to look for it, it's not obvious.

    BTW, I bought a 52" Samsung last year which I like very much and I'm not sure what the reliability is on the Proscan.
