So I've been looking around everywhere for tv's and I really need help choosing. I plan on watching cable tv and movies. I would really appreciate some help with choosing.

Here are some of my choices, with all the details the flyers give me:

(the prices are around my price range)

Best Buy:

Samsung 42" Flat-panel Plasma HDTV 720p 20 000:1..........$969.99

--------------------------------------...

Future Shop:

Samsung 40" Series 5 LCD HDTV 1080p 3x HDMI 30,000:1...$299.99

Samsung 40" 6ms response time and 178 degree viewing angle 720p 3xHDMI 10,000:1..........999.97

--------------------------------------...

Leons:

42" Samsung plasma HDTV super high 1,000,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio. SRS TruSurround XT with 30 watts of audio. 3HDMI inputs and PC input.............$999 includes delivery

--------------------------------------...

I think I want to go with the leons, are there any reasons I shouldn't? are the ther ones better? anything else I need to think about or should be concerned about?

Thank you sooo much, I need to choose!!

(I understand I will have to buy the chords, and the HD box and possibly warranties)

also a lot of ppl prefer LCD over plasma. Are plasmas not worth it?

  1. SONY

  2. SONY is always good.

The 1,000,000:1 is totally bogus. If the TV detects a whole black scene it turns off! which explain the completely bogus contrast ratio!!

Don't buy based on specs. Go to the stores and look at the picture.

Look for black levels, wide angle view, and color!

Read the reviews at cnet.com as well.
