  1. Each state has the same amout of school time.


  2. Year-round schools don't usually actually have more school days, or not many more.  They have scheduled breaks around the year, instead of one big summer break.

    Some school systems have school year round, but the student body is divided up into four more-or-less equal groups, and any one group only goes to school 3/4 of the year, so that one group is on vacation and 3 groups are going to school, but they're on a sort of rotating schedule.  One group's vacation might be August, September, October.  Another group's vacation might be November, December, January.  and so on.

    Most school systems have about 180 days per year.  A few more, a few less, but about that.
