I am trying to find out which car manufacturers from the following list offer free breakdown cover as part of the showroom deal. This can either be arranged by the dealer themselves or be part of the insurance package they give-away (if any!). Please see the list of manufacturers below I am interested in:

Nissan

Mazda

Mitsubishi

BMW

Rover/MG

Audi

Mercedes

Landrover

Kia

Citroen

Vauxhall

Ford

Peugeot

Chrysler

Chevrolet

Dodge

Toyota

Fiat

Honda

Alfa Romeo

Hyundai

Jeep

Mini

Volkswagon

Seat

Lexus

Renault

Jaguar

Skodo

Smart

Subaru

Suzuki

Volvo

If so, which roadside assitance company do each manufacturers use? Maybe if we can get someone who has bought a car from each manufacturer brand new, we can formulate a list between us!

Thankyou for any help you can provide.

  1. I thought they all gave free breakdown cover.

Had a new Peugeot and they did for 3 years

If they didnt and the car broke down the other end of the country from where you bought it they would be liable for picking it up and getting it fixed. So it is easier for them to do a deal with the RAC or AA and include it in the purchase price

  2. Enough with the 'we'! Look through the makers' websites yourself for the info.

  3. hmmm, personally i wouldn't expect a car manufacturer to advertise free brake down cover,i mean it would sound as though they dont have much confidence in there cars then why should we?

....almost all car insurance company's offer roadside assistance/relay home as std..

  4. I have a Mistubishi Outlander 4x4 and it comes with free breakdown cover for three years.
