Which US ally in your opinion has been the greatest disappointment up to now?

The UN is a joke. They do nothing to solve problems around the world and hate us and israel.

Anyone ever heard of those two faced terrorist backstabbers that call themselves "Saudis?" The US saves their asses in '91 and what did they give us in return? The barracks bombing, the attack on the USS Cole, the embassy bombings and Osama bin Laden and the 9/11 hijackers.

Russia. The fact that the U.S. powers that be consider Russia to be an ally is ridiculous. They have been a thorn in our side for over 50 years and nothing has changed since the fall of communism.

Pakistan, but I really never thought of them as an ally.

I would have to say the French. Their duplicity is almost without peer. First, one of their middle grade officers publishes a book which shows the German High Command how to breach the Maginot Line. Then after the Normandy landings and the liberation of France, the French people begin the Fifth Republic and elect the guy as their President. He then kicks the NATO headquarters out of his country. The headquarters of a military alliance composed of nations which spent blood and treasure to liberate France. His name was Charles De Gaulle. They opted out of the military branch of NATO but remained in the political end of it. When we began military operations in Iraq, their government was quite vocal in its objection to our course of action. But, when we captured the files in the building which housed the Iraqi Oil Ministry and found proof that a French firm had held the contracts for Iraqi oil production, even during the period of UN sanctions, they suddenly went mute. Probably worried that President Bush might hold a press conference and show the world those papers.

They have sent no support to Iraq. They are not even involved in NATO's effort to train Iraqi police and security forces. But, a lot of the personnel involved in that effort arrive at Basra Airport on planes owned by Air France!

I'm hopeful that Sarkozy can turn things around and help his people and his nation atone for the stupidity shown by previous regimes.

i dont even know why we consider russia an ally and pakistan hasnt helped us one bit in finding osama and destroying the taliban even though theyre in their own country so id say its between those two

Althoguht I support Isreal don't get me wrong but come on they were on our asses o invade Iraq fsince the first Gulf war and when we finaly did they were no were to be seen they could have sent a few men to opration Iraqie freedom
