Which US cities are receiving hurricane Gustav evacuees? Which charities are funding them?

I would like to donate but would like to send my money where it is most needed. I am from Australia and we get only headlines here.

Can anyone advise me?

I just think those people need all the help they can get as they face all that again after only three years respite and I would like to contribute to their recovery (again)

Shreveport, and Baton Rouge in Louisiana have received many evacuees, Houston, Texas and Oklahoma City, Oklahoma have also.  Most southern US areas have some but these are the main ones.  The simplest place to donate would probably be Red Cross however you need to make a note in your cheque ,to specify that it is for hurricane Gustav relief so that it does not become part of general funds.   Other good charities that are or will be helping are Salvation Army,Mennonite DIsaster Services and Catholic Charities.  In each case specify what your donationis for so it is used exactly as you want.
