Question:

Which VP candidate do you think better embodies the idea of "not just politics as usual"?

The one who has been a DC insider (as even the press describes him) for over 30 years?

Or the one who brought about a government budget surplus in her state -- and then returned the extra money to the taxpayers? The one who fought corruption at all levels of state government? The one who, as mayor of her hometown, gave HERSELF a pay cut?

Which one of these VP candidates do you think has a proven track record -- as opposed to just rhetoric -- in the "not just politics as usual" department?

  1. Biden has a history of reaching across the isle to pass landmark legislation such as the Violence Against Women Act.

Palin shoots wildlife and is married to an oilman.

    OBAMA/BIDEN '08!

  2. The Republican VP candidate has MORE government executive experience than the Democrats' PRESIDENTIAL nominee.

Hello?  Clue phone? Calling all Obots?

    McCain/Palin '08

  3. How on earth is she going to fit her 'surplussy' ideas into the culture of failure so lovingly nurtured in Washington these past years?

Not hard to return a surplus in Alaska, I'm thinking...just ask some friends to look for loose change in the street. The one street in Alaska.

  4. I'm thinking Joe Biden isn't the correct answer to this question.

  5. Definitely Palin...in every way!

  6. Joe Biden, Palin agrees with Bush too much, plus she said she wants creationism alongside evolution in science classes... that is just too stupid for me to even consider her

  7. Jenny Kim

  8. You mean the chick that covered up that her 16 yr old daughter is really the one that was pregnant? Her?

    Look it up.

  9. I like her, it is taking me time to read up on her and decipher the facts from the rumors.  She also sold the Gov private plane.

  10. I think it's the one who is a lunatic. Just look into her eyes Jesus Christ what a nutjob!

  11. I'd have to agree that Palin better embodies the idea of "not just politics as usual" - but only because she has almost no experience at all.  As for her bringing about a surplus....Alaska has had a surplus for years.  So much in fact that in most years the taxpayers have received money from the state rather than paying taxes.  It has nothing to do with her being a great governor....just that the oil companies make so much money in a state with only 648,000 people.  My sister used to live there and got tax returns of a couple thousand dollars when she made no income at all.  As for her fighting corruption - you do know that she is under investigation for abuse of power for firing the safety commisioner for allegedly not firing a state trooper who was fighting for child custody from Palin's sister.  Biden has been in the Senate for a long time and has been a great senator.  After all those years - he still has a net worth of only about $150,000.  The scary thing about Palin is that she actually believes the earth is only 6000 years old and her church believes in speaking in tongues.  Being governor is usually a pretty important job.  But in this case, there are a few hundred counties in the US that have more people than the whole state of Alaska.  The mayor of Dayton Ohio has more contituents.

  12. As for DC politics, well not her that's for sure.

Biden can be experienced and be totally up for change, the concepts are not mutually exclusive. Sometimes (in life in general) experienced people who are ready for a change are good to have. They are good to have around, for starters because they already know what doesn't work. Newbies on the other hand wouldn't know that.

  13. Well Palin is being investigated for corruption and her mother in law and Republican officeholders in Alaska even refuse to vote for the Mccain/Palin ticket. Truth is, it's always just politics, that's what there in... Seems like an obvious answer to me, just saying.

  14. If you believe anything you are told from people like Bush, Rove, Cheney, McCain or Palin you will believe anything & they know it. This women hasn't done anything good. As she stands up there & says she fights corruption she is under investigation for corruption. Her state does not have a surplus. Yet they will also tell you Clinton didn't leave with surpluses & you believe that one too. She is a phoney BSer like the rest of them. If you want someone to work hard for you hire a beauty queen (sarcasm) hire the son on a oil heiress (sarcasm) who got into colledge because Governor ? the one who was married to Elizebeth Taylor for a brief time, got him in. When a reporter asked him about it, he said it was no bother, I was glad to do it...He didn't even see that this was unfair to somoene else who worked to get in. You probably listen to Rush & watch Fox news & have no clue about Rupert Murdock the man who paid Newt Gingrich $12 million dollars to change laws so foreigners could buy up the airways (he austrailian). Newt had help from his republican buddies to change the laws that we set in motion to protect us. You are being used so this people can pad their pockets with their wealthy friends money. You probably still think you are going to get some money from the oil like Bush promised us all. One day you will need something & you don't think you will & it will be a democrat that helps you. If they have anymore power. When you use all the good things you still have left in life the real freedom remember it is because of democrats. The libraries, schools, internet, police, fire,  I am not sure what you question is but but McCain has been in DC for over 30 years & Palin has been as far from the US as you can get beside Hawaii but they spend time outdoors with people & in Alaska it is cold & they spend more time alone.
