I want a Camera that I can just plug into my TV and it will record, So I can make some Machinima! Also I want it to be able to record real life! But I want it to have like a good sense of light, not so dark and not so bright. I want to be able to upload the clips to my Windows XP No Problem! 1. In order to record what you are watching on TV, you need the "AV-in" feature on the camcorder. Most do not have it. Check the Sony DCR-HC96. As a miniDV tape based camcorder, you will use the camcorder's DV port (not USB) connected to the Firewire port of your computer. If it does not have one, they are cheap and easy to add. You will need a firewire (IEEE1394a, i.Link - all the same thing) cable. Once Windows recognizes the firewire 400 port on the computer, the camcorder will be controlled by the video editing application. No camera-specific drivers needed (like USB).
