Question:

Which Vokey is best?

I am currently using a 52 defree volkey chrome wedge. It is all beat up and time to be replaced.

I was thinking of a Spin Milled Volkey, but they only come in 54 to 56 degree and up as does the Oilcan finish.

I like the 52 degree and I use it to pitch and chip.

I am wondering if I should just replace my 52 with a similar 52 degree chrome wedge.

OR

is the spin milled and/or oil can a better wedge?

Does the spin milled or oil can offer more benefits then the chrome series?

Is there drawbacks to the spin milled/oil/chrome series.

I love my chrome series but always feel it can be better.

  1. You  are giving the viewer the " I know about wedges" treatment which is quite impressive. However, you answered the question in your first sentence. If you are currently using a 52 degree Volkey Chrome, either have it reworked  by a club specialist or buy another Volkey  52 degree Chrome wedge. You are already used to that loft and any other loft will require a period of adjustment and a new learning experience. If  you play well with the 52 degree, don't mess with another club. This suggestion is from an  85 year old  who learned long ago that you don't mess with a good short game.

  2. Simply speaking there is little improvement needed when you are the "Best"   Vokeys are the best wedge made in my opinion.....if you feel it can do better.....maybe it can.......learn to use the tool completely.......remember its the mechanic that makes the wrench work.....Not the other way around.
