  1. St. Andrews of course because it is the home of golf!  Played Sawgrass and it was fantastic.

  2. If I could only play one or the other I would probably go with St. Andrews just because it has such a historic significance to the game.  It is not anywhere near the same type of manicured conditions as Sawgrass, but that is part of the charm.

  3. St. Andrews would be the first choice just for the bragging rites of having played on the hallowed fields of the R & A. Stopped on the way home from FL at TPC-Sawgrass with the thought of wife and I playing a round. With the price quoted for the two of us we decided a new set of irons for her was a better bargain.

  4. St. Andrews, though I played Sawgrass once and it was amazing.

  5. I have the utmost respect for St Andrews and its storied place in our great game...BUT as a die hard American I'd have to choose Sawgrass. It always looks amazing on TV and so well manicured. The pros constantly brag about it and they don't thrash it with crazy low rounds. For me personally, I just don't have any interest in playing at a course where the rough is that tall.

If there were a 3rd choice in your question of Augusta National...that's where I'd REALLY want to go!

  6. Obviously St Andrews has the more historical aspect of the two courses but it is hard to judge as they are both different in their own way. St Andrews is links and Sawgrass is american therefore having tonnes of water but in terms of the better i'd prefer Sawgrass as ,i dunno about anyone-else but, i think it has more variation in hole types.
