  1. You were told incorrectly; if your musical interests are better served with an electric guitar then there's no reason to start with an acoustic.  Don't waste your money on a guitar you have no interest in.  There are lots of reasonably priced electric starter packages available.  Good luck.

  2. I've been playing for almost two years now.  I started with a little Yamaha and then moved to a Takamine.  I've heard good things about both.  I'm no expert but I believe all of Yamaha's instruments are both reliable and affordable.  As for the Takamine, I wouldn't say I love it, but I definitely like it a lot!

  3. It would depend on your price range at first, but you definitely want to stay above the £100/$170 mark. If you go below that the guitar is just not worth the cash.

The best thing to do would be to go to your local store and check out the guitars there with the help of the owner. If you find one that you like but is too expensive, do some research on the internet for a cheaper price.

Guitar shops also tend to haggle slightly due to their ever changing costs so you may be able to get a lower Value. If you don't check with the shops first and buy off the internet, you don't know what sound or playability you will be getting.

    Hope this helps....

  4. I would suggest the Jasmine S33 (http://guitars.musiciansfriend.com/produ... It sounds great and it's very cheap. If you would rather have an electric, you don't have to get an acoustic as your first guitar.

  5. It's not about make or model, it's about what you are comfortable with. Determine how much you want to spend and try everything the store has. Some of the larger music retailers have good deals on packages that include tuners & carrying bags, etc. Take your time & don't spend too much initially as you may find that work/family, etc. prevent you from learning. Doesn't have to be acoustic, either. Best of luck!

  6. i suggest Brand Takamine. Because of cool sound and low price.

Beginner shouldn't buy acoustic guitar over 100$.

You can buy cheap guitar from amazon.com. you'll get a special price.

  7. For a begginer guitar... I would suggest an Ibanez starter pack.

  8. Two things

1, the guitar you need is the one you feel happy with, the action is instrumental (pardon the pun) in your choice. (the action is the distance from the string to the fretboard) the lower the action the easier to play.

2, Whyacoustic? accoustic are far more difficult to play and you cannot play almost silently when practising. do not rule out electric who knows you may be next big thing.

good luck whichever direction you choose
