What adds more heat to the enviroment, the release of calories when a mole of carbon is oxidized to make a mole of CO2, or that same mole of CO2 in the atmosphere for a year?

  1. well the formation of CO2 is an exothermic reaction which gives off heat whereas CO2 acting as a greenhouse gas doesnt create heat it just traps it in and prevents its escape out of the atmosphere.  Based on this CO2 formation adds more heat because out of the two it is the only that adds heat.


  2. The CO2 as a green house gas is nothing as it is very heavy and the plants will recycle it very quickly...

  3. Carbon dioxide doesn't add heat as a greenhouse gas.  It causes the atmosphere to retain more of the heat from the sun.
