Which adobe photoshop CS3/elements should I buy?

I've had adobe photoshop elements 2.0 for a while, and I've finally decided to upgrade to a newer version. I went to the store and found a bunch of different types of photoshop, and I'm unsure about what I should buy.

-Adobe photoshop elements 6.0

-Adobe Dreamweaver CS3

-Adobe Fireworks CS3

-Adobe Illustrator CS3

-Adobe Indesign CS3

The other ones are out of my budget, like the Adobe Creative Suite 3 Master Collection or the Adobe Photoshop Extended CS3. I'm also planning on buying a wacom tablet, which is suppose to come with photoshop elements 4.0, so i'm not even sure if I need to purchase any of those.

I want to be able to draw and create layouts and simple animations. I won't be doing a whole lot of multimedia or videos.

Within my budget, I can only purchase one of the products, so which one do you think would best fit my needs? What do each of the products do? Also, since I'm buying the licensed version, am I allowed to install the program on multiple computers? I have two labtops and one desktop computer, and it would be nice to have the product on all three of them. Thanks.

  1. -Adobe photoshop elements 6.0

Is a simpler version or Photoshop, but still has many powerful feature. I used to use this before I got Photoshop.

    -Adobe Dreamweaver CS3

Used for developing web sites and online web applications with useful tools. I use this, but it's not for graphics.

    -Adobe Fireworks CS3

Used to be owned by Macromedia, and it's another graphics editor, but designed specifically for exporting into web designs and web development.

    -Adobe Illustrator CS3

May be the most usefull for your tablet, you can create vector (in other words, scalable; google it if you don't know) drawings and I believe it supports tablet pressure sensitivity. Very useful if you plan on printing or making off-screen media.

    -Adobe Indesign CS3

A graphic/text designer made for print media, such as books, posters, fliers, etc. I don't really know about it.

I don't know your budget, but If you plan on printing you works, buy Illustrator, and use the Photoshop Elements 4 that comes with your tablet for raster (opposite of vector, google if you need) works.

If you intend to use all the features of Photoshop, like the filters, and everything else, definitely get Photoshop CS3.

(Oh, and if you want to make animations, Flash is a good choice. Photoshop does come with ImageReady, which you can make very simple animations with, but not long ones very easily)

  2. I would buy Adobe Photoshop CS3 Extended. I have this one and is great. This would definitley help you out with what your doing. If I could upload it to a site i'd give you what i downloaded. Unfotunatley It's 528 MB.
