Which aircraft is more efficient: the A340-300 or the B777-200ER?

On shorter flights under 5000nm, the 777-200ER should be more efficient but on longer flights above 6000nm, the A340-300 should beat the -200ER in efficiency.

777...bottom line is that it has 2 engines.  A340 has 4, so pretty much any way you shake it you will burn more gas with 4 engines.

as for fuel efficient like the man say it's the airbus 340. I am not quite sure with the 777 but the A330 it can land with it's own take-off weight. So no more fuel dumping. I think the A330 is GE80E engines with 80k thrust while the 777 is 90k thrust.

the 777-200ER has a top range of about 14,000 kms(payload range of about only 10,500 kms) and a fuel capacity of about 171,000 L. The 340-300 i believe has a top range of just under 14,000 kms (here the loaded payload range is around 14,000 kms) with a fuel capacity of around 140,640 L. I would say the 340-300 is the most efficient economically.

Payload/loaded range is when the aircraft is full off passengers, cargo and fuel.
