1. I was just in NYC and at my hotel, i saw a group of flight attendants wearing a teal grren uniform. Which airline would this be? They were obviously flying international. they were all somewhat senior, and they left the hotel at 5pm. i was curious because its an expensive hotel, and i want to know what airline can afford this (i paid 500USD/night for a room!).

2. On the planes home, to toronto, out of 9 business class seats, 4 were filled with air canada flight attendants. Do they have priority for upgrades over status holders? My dad's a super elite, and we didnt get upgraded, but they were all up there! Also, a pilot was at the front for the connection to edmonton!

  1. We have flight crews at the hotel I work in and they only pay a third of the full rate, so don't think they'll be paying your rate.

If you wanna find that uniform then check here:

    but I warn you...there's loads!

  2. 1. The airlines have contract with their hotels. They definitely weren't paying $500 a night for those rooms. They could have negotiated it down to less than $100 a night. That's X number of rooms for 365 days, so a big discount can be negotiated.

    2. The crew was probably deadhading. The airline was requiring them to ride in back on that leg in order for them to get to their assignment. Some contracts require that the crew ride in first class on deadhead legs going toward a flight assignment. It's different with every airline, though, so you might see something different on others.
