  1. Romford Central

    lol only joking...

Like the person above recommended, probably Ciampino if you don't mind searching for the best flights.  I can tell you that Ryanair fly to Ciampino from Luton, although I haven't checked other airlines (except BA and I can tell you they don't fly to Ciampino).

    Hope that helps

  2. There are no (as far as I know) scheduled flights into Ciampino, so your choice is limited.  Fumicino is 30 to 45 minutes from the center both by taxi (about 50 Euros) or by train to the Termini Station (not sure of current cost--was about 8 Euros per person).

  3. Ciampino is the best option. It is small and easy to find your way around. Transport to central Rome is excellent from this airport.

Fiumicino is huge, similar to CDG. It is very stressful to land here as there are so many people and they dont care if they shove the child over.

I have landed in both, lots of times, now I always go to Ciampino, get bus to Anagnina and get metro to anywhere in Rome.

  4. Belfast international

  5. You got some pretty good answers. They're both just as easy, Fiumicino with the train and Ciampino with a scheduled bus, so you should not let yourself be influenced by the Airport, choose the Airline first. Scheduled with a Promotional fare (Fiumicino), or low cost with an Early booking (Ciampino). You can get good deals from both. I would also ask myself what is the most convenient Airport for you in the UK, that's the real question. depends where you live and how you intend getting there (car, train, bus).

    Happy landings

  6. Not sure where you live, (as others have said) Ryanair fly to Ciampino from Luton and Stansted.  I too am going and as they are the cheapest, I havent looked elsewhere.  What age is your child?  will they have a seat on the flight or not?  it may make the difference if you are travelling during peak times.  Good Luck I hope you have a good trip.

  7. Conley's answer is perfect - nothing more needs to be added!  :-)

  8. ciampino and Fiumicino.....

  9. Both airports have pretty easy access to central Rome. Fiumicino is probably a little easier unless you take a cab - then they're both the same other than cost.

From Fiumicino, there are direct trains (the Leonardo Express) to the Roma Termini station. The cost is 11 euro and the trip takes 35 minutes. Taxis are available to take you directly to your hotel for either 40 or 60 euro. http://www.adr.it/content.asp?L=3&idmen=...

From Ciampino there are shuttle buses to the Ciampino train station or the metro station. The train costs 1.30 euro for adults and an additional euro for children between 4 and 12 years old. There are also buses run by Terravision that go to Roma Termini station for 8 euro. Taxis cost 30 euro. http://www.adr.it/content.asp?L=3&idmen=...

  10. How can you get an Airport into the centre of a city ???

  11. Fly to Rome Ciampino... It is the nearest one...

You may fly there with Ryanair, from London Stansted

    or Easyjet from London Gatwick...

  12. Overall FIUMICINO (Aereoporto Leonardo da Vinci)

I would like to specify that Fiumicino is a REAL airport

WHILE  Ciampino looks more like a farmhouse where airplanes are allowed to land.

Just picture that the control tower is the roof top of a 2-3 stories building from the 50s or even earlier.
