We're going to NJ and NY(with two kids) and were wondering which airport is cleaner, friendlier, easier to navigate, better security lines, etc.

Any info about Kennedy, Newark, La Guardia would be appreciated! :)

  1. I like Newark the best. Kennedy is always a headache, it's not very clean and is so incredibly busy. But these days with the prices of tickets, you have to pick the cheapest one. Sometimes there's a $300 difference between flying into LaGuardia and Kennedy. Forget cleanest, you have to go with cheapest.

  2. all airport are good, clean and secure,it depend individual liking which one is better

  3. I personally like Kennedy and La Guardia, though La Guardia is right on the water so it can be a bit scary when you are landing cause it feels like your going to hit the water.

They are both fairly clean, the security lines are normally short, and both are really easy to navigate.

  4. When I was in NY, I was really surprised by how fast I was able to go through security in LaGuardia.  The only mild downside, though, was the lack of variety of eating options.  It's actually a fairly small airport for such a large city!

  5. It makes very little difference. If you are going to take mass transit into the city, Newark is the easiest b/c you can take a train from the airport directly to Penn Station.  Also similar experience from JFK, except that you have to take a train from the airport to Jamaica Station, which will cost $5 per person.  LaGuardia is accessible only by cab.  As for security lines,  you will probably do better at JFK.  At Newark, at least for continental, the lines are always bad to get through security.  Check the web site of each airport and they will have a link to the NTSB for average security wait times.
