Question:

Which all-inclusive Palace resort is better?

I am trying to plan my honeymoon in April and my fiance has the option to stay at any Palace resort in Cancun. It turns out there are quite a few to choose from (Moon, Sun, Beach, Cancun, Vallarta, etc.). I understand we can travel between the resorts, but I wanted to get an idea from people that have actually been there to compare. Which ones did you like better and why?

Most important to us are food and a good atmosphere for a honeymoon.

Thanks in advance for your help!

  1. don't go to Moon it is on the airport route very noisy

I like Cancun, they just remodeled and it is close to everything.

Beach and sun and moon are very far away from EVERYTHING. I don't know anything about Vallarta

  2. We were at the Moon Palace in 2002 and yes it is close to the airport (a plus for me), but not noisy.  It is a ways from downtown but it is also very large with a lot of activities.  We only left twice during our 7 day stay.  The food and service were excellent and the place was very clean.  Several restaurants to choose from.  It's a great place to spend time together and meet some nice people from all over.  One thing you should know is the water at the beach was quite full of seaweed but the pool area is so large it didn't matter much.  I would recommend it highly but, hey it's your choice.  If you want all night partying then maybe one closer to downtown would be better.  We visited the Sun Palace and the water was a gorgeous turqoise and clean but then you are on sort of a hotel row where one place is right next to another.  All the resorts have a web page.  Look them up before you choose.

  3. The best Palace resort is Le Blanc, no doubt about it. Is an excellent only adults resort, all inclusive where you will certainly enjoy a romantic staying.

    Have fun!!!

  4. My son and his fiancee are getting married at the Coz Palace in February, then going on for a week at the Aventura.

Moon Palace has approx 2000 rooms and 13 restaurants, no beach to speak of, Sun and Aventura Palaces are couples/adults only.

Beach Palace seems to be where the families go.  (Read: lots of kids)

Beach, Cancun, and Sun are all in Cancun.  Of the three the Cancun Palace, in the middle, has the best beach IMO.  It's about a mile north to the Beach Palace and a mile south to the Sun Palace, so within walking distance either way.

Moon Palace is 30 minutes south of Cancun, closer to the airport; if you like golf then that might be your best choice.

The Playacar is directly across from (and a ferry ride to) the Cozumel Palace.

If you are interested in the free tours, there are going to be more available from the peninsula than from the Cozumel Palace.

If you are into snorkeling or scuba then the Coz Palace is probably your best bet.

Cancun is pretty much a party town; if you want some alone time then I'd head further out.

There is a new Palace Resort, just opened, on Isla Mujeres.

Food is going to be pretty much the same; if you go to the Palace website you can check out amenities at all the resorts, restaurants, tours, rooms, activities, etc.

Vallarta is in Nuevo Vallerta (Pacific coast, not Yucatan Peninsula area) and you are NOT going to be able to travel back and forth from that one to the others...

  5. well, all the palace compani are excelent, but i prefer the medium hotel, like the nuew ME its melia cancun. better for me couse its small.

the food tis excelent and the service too

but if u come for honey moon i prefer the riviera maya, couse its a paradisiatic place and the beach its alone

  6. The Sun Palace is now a couples only resort, (no kids) it is located in the hotel zone. The Sun Palace has been renovated recently. All of the Palace resorts are great the other cool thing is that if you are staying at one you can visit and enjoy the all-inclusives at all of the resorts. I suggest you spend a few days in Cancun and maybe a few days in Playa Del Carmen at the Playacar Palace, from Playa you can take the ferry over to Cozumel and check out the Cozumel. (Cozumel Palace is walking distance from ferry dock) Playa is close to Tulum, Xel-Ha, Coba, and right next to Xcaret. All are tours you may want to take in while you are enjoying your honeymoon. (Playatrips.com)

You may want to see if you can split the resort time between Cancun and Playa.

Cancun is more of a club atmosphere, very spring break-ish. Playa is more of a laid back small town atmosphere, small bars, restaurants and shops. They are only 35 miles apart, and Cozumel is directly across from Playa.

  7. Cancun palace is the best choice of the Palace resorts.  Are you stuck on palace resorts??  I sent a couple to RIU Caribe for their honeymoon and they loved it.  It is a nice resort.  There are many options.  Dreams is an excellent resort for couples, but the beach there is not very good.  Caribe Real is another good choice for a honeymoon.  If you must stay at one of the palace resorts....go with the Cancun Palace.

  8. Blue Bay Getaway

  9. Sun Palace was detroyed in the Hurricane Wilma. They rebuilt it and is now a brand new resort. I would go there. It's a couples only resort and for a honeymoon it would be my choice. But check them all out.

    Check out this site.

I love Moon Palace but the beach water is not that great. Lots of seaweed. They rake the beach but it keeps coming back.

    Congrats and good luck)
