  1. You need to listen to each with the speakers you have or intend to use. The tonal quality will vary greatly based on that.


  2. I usually like both brands, but after reading the spec sheets on both I would say that the Onkyo looks better on paper. My advice would be to listen to them if you can It's hard to say which one will sound better unless you had them both in your home on your speaker, and made that decision on your own.

  3. I always suggest that you audition any piece of audio gear.  I have an ONKYO 975 and although it is awesome for home theater, it isn't as warm and smooth as my old B&K.  SACDs sound pretty amazing if they're produced correctly.  Dennon has a great reputation for being very musical.  If you can't audition them, then go for the Dennon.
