I have a 500 watt rms sub matched with a 500 watt rms amp and I am looking to get a wiring kit. I have heard 4 gauge is the choice but what is the difference if an 8 gauge wiring kit claims to be 1000 watts? Would that be ok to use? The reason why I am asking is because it could save me $10.

  1. spend the extra 10 dollars ,u will appreciate the cost in the long run,4 gauge is fine but better yet 2 gauge will be even better, feed the amp the proper juice it needs to work properly

  2. I have 2 gauge on my punch 60 and it still seems to not feed enough power but this is a 60w amp that is pushing 300w plus .Whatever you use for power supply use the same size for ground.
