  1. The SIngulapan, disappeared and no one has heard of them since.

  2. The neanderthals in Europe have disappeared entirely leaving no descendants.  The only records we have of them are through archaeological digs and bones found in caves of southern France and Germany.  They supposedly lived 25,000 years ago and not much is known about these people.  Another ancient civilization which is supposed to have existed is the fabled Atlantis mentioned in Plato.

  3. Think about it. If they have disappeared "without a trace" then we don't know about them, do we?

  4. atlantean from the atlantis

  5. Most of the ancient cultures have disappeared!

The one possible exception would be the Chinese agricultural society, which has persisted for nearly 10,000 years!

The Sumerian civilization was finished by about 1500 BCE.

The Indus River Valley people were gone at around the same time.

The Egyptian civilization persisted until 500 CE.

Mayans, Aztecs, Toltecs, Olmecs, Incans, all gone...

There could be others, but those people were not really "civilizations", because they left no lasting evidence!

The only traces that these people left, was their architecture, most notably in the form of pyramids!

  6. The people that lived on Easter Island...all we have are those giant head statues...

  7. Aloha from Down Unda!

We were a band of friendly ghosts, picnic stealing happy bears, flyin rodents with heroic powers & we would appear on Saturday mornings with black & white cowboys & stringed marionettes.  We were called Cartoons & we were fun!

    Best wishes~

  8. I always thought that the Minoans were pretty cool.  The supposedly peaceful lot that were booted out by the Mycenaeans.  2nd millennium BC on the island of Crete.

I imagined we could all be living in paradise had they flourished, spreading their way of life across the globe.  But  unfortunately violence rules.

  9. We will never know, no doubt there are animals too, that became extinct leaving no trace, perhaps one day something may be discovered to give us more surprises.

  10. All that Eternal said , plus the Vinca and Trypillian people from Europe. They built out of wood, but had big cities. Unfortunately, wood doesn't leave much trace. There's also one in the Pacific that build an artifical island out of granite for a palace, but no one knows who they were. Also the Jomon, who have left underwater stone temples around the coast of Japan, drowned by the sea level rise at the end of the last ice age.

  11. the inca people, though their structures have survived,

best I could think of sorry

  12. Easter Island first and foremost, we still don't have any ideas what's going on there. The southeast asian and Indian cultures are still a little foggy. Look up the Indus Valley region. Also, the mississippian culture in the US, and the Mayans and Azteks.
