  1. From your list, it's a tossup between clams and snails.

From personal experience, it's freshwater clams.  Mine died if there was even the slightest issue with water quality.

  2. All of them!

  3. Hairless dogs.

  4. Probably frogs.  Haven't heard too much about acid rain lately but a number of years ago, in Scotland, one rain storm at least had the ph of vinegar.

Acid rain has been devastating to maple trees in Quebec.  What happens here is the acids in the rain break down the aluminum in the soil.  The aluminum then becomes indigestible and then the trees absorb the aluminum and are gradually killed.

  5. ah I remember this lab. I kept it too. :-)

Clams and Snails are most sensitive because they cannot survive past the acidity of Ph 6.0.

And frogs are the least sensitive because they can survive acid rain trough Ph of 4.0.

I think the guy above me was a little confused. The less the Ph the more acidic the rain becomes therefore makes it harder for the animals to survive. So if frogs can survive acidity up to 4.0 it makes them very acid rain resistant. However the snails and clams can't survive anything lower than 6.0 Ph...and that's almost to the point of neutral rain. I mean water is 7.0. LOL. Hope this helped. :-)

  6. Well, sea animals are very sensitive to acid rain. Since the acid mixes with water when it rains, the fish and other sea life breath in the acid through their gills.

The answer I think you're looking for, though, is that the most sensitive animals on this list are frogs at 4.0 pH. (By the way, rain is only considered acid rain if it has a pH of below 5.6)

  7. the realy tastey ones.

  8. Is that their lower tolerance levels? If so, the most sensitive are the ones with the highest low Ph boundary, which is Clams, and Snails. They don't have to have their Ph lowered by much before they reach their limit. However, this is far from the truth. Acid rains consitutes a natural element that interacts with other abiotic components. The rock composition in the area largely affects the impact of acid rain, for instance.

  9. Humans, since we are animals.
