  1. Believe it or not, it's the seemingly placid Hippo! They are responsible for the most deaths in Africa, largely due to people getting too close to them on rafts / boats in the water.

EDIT: To the people who answered mosquito... A mosquito is not an animal, it's an insect!!

And humans aren't animals either!! Did anyone actually read the question? Lol.

  2. I am with Scott L.

  3. Some people say Hippo's because of their aggression and mobility on land and water

Others say the Cape buffalo because of its fiery temper, deadly horns and its speed on land. And they live in groups so are quite protective

  4. The hippo, I've heard, but also crocodiles.

  5. Aside from humans, you mean? The mosquito indirectly kills the most people through infecting them with malaria - and Angel_eyes, what do you think insects and humans are if not animals? Plants? Bacteria?

If you are talking about direct killing, the hippopotamus kills more people in Africa than any other animal. They are extremely dangerous animals, being very aggressive and territorial. The African buffalo is the second most dangerous animal, followed by the elephant. All over the world, more people are killed every year by herbivores than by carnivores.

  6. Mosquito

  7. Mosquito and contrary to what #1 said it is an animal. All Living things are either animal or plant (ok there is one micro organism that has so many elements of both it's an exception but that's the exception that proves the rule.  The Mosquito kills primarily thru malaria (technically also an animal). Oh and people are animals too by the way.  If you don't beleive me ask a scientist and not your bible studies teacher.

For mammals, I beleive the Hippo is accurate

  8. I DONT KNOW...HAHAHHAA

  9. hippos  those things are huge and hate humans going beside them and there young

  10. Mosquito (indirectly, through malaria) or , directly, hippo.

And to 'Angel-eyes': Insects are animals and so are humans.

  11. humans, really

  12. mosquitos (malaria)

  13. This question made me remember an incident in my early life.  In 1951 was a seventeen year old lad working on a ship where we sailed up a wide West African river for a full 24 hours to a point where cargo was brought to us to load.  I had never known such heat and humidity.  After a shower you kept drying yourself until you got fed up and still you were wet through.  I fancied a swim but sailors are always careful about sharks.  I reasoned things out.  We had sailed for 24 hours up this river at 10 knots giving us 240 miles - less an allowance for the current.  OK split it in two and we have sailed 120 miles, call it 100 upriver, salt water never penetrates more than 14 miles up a flowing river, sharks swim in salt water, so no fear of sharks... In I dived.  It was beautiful, the cool water washing away all the sweat and bringing my temperature down, cooling me off for the first time in a month, I came to the surface and as my head rose above the water I noticed I had been carried quite a way down away from the gangway.  Then I heard some natives who were calling out to me. ....... Croc-o-dile!.  Tarzan could not have caught me as I swam at warp speed and went up the gangway still doing my swimming stroke... I should have died that day but all the crocks were on a meal-break or something...

  14. It's definitely humans.  While mosquitoes are animals, it's not the mosquito that kills people, it's the organisms that it carries that actually kills people, and they are not animals.  Plasmodium spp., which causes malaria, is a protozoan.

  15. Man

  16. yeh the top 1 is right its hippo's
