  1. the most extreme predators in the world are humans. we kill anything and everything if we feel like, and we even kill each other. we regard ourselves as the most important animals on earth, and that is our justification for the ruthless slaughter of many different animals.

for example. many people consider sharks to be ruthless human killers that are only there to kill us because they can. this couldnt be further from the truth. in 2006, there were only 64 shark attacks worldwide on humans for the entire year, and only 1 was fatal. most shark attacks occur because sharks dont have hands to indentify and test things, so they have to use their teeth. this often how shark attacks happen, and is also why most shark attacks occur in murky water that they cant see well in.

in 2006, 3 million sharks were killed worldwide by humans.

that is downright sick and wrong, and something has to be done about it.

humans are the most extreme predators in the world.

  2. In terms of spreading terror and mayhem, the prize would have to go to shrews.  A typical day for a shrew involves slaughtering the owners of its own bodyweight of meat, and fighting any other shrew it might encounter.  Other than for a rare bit of breeding, shrews spend virtually all their waking hours killing and eating.  Being small-bodied makes them prone to heat loss, and that means the fuel costs for their bodies are relatively enormous.

Just about every attack a shrew undertakes has to succeed.  Lions, on the other paw, have failiure rates of (going by memory) 85% or so.  Most their targets get away.  If a shrew were as talentless as that, it'd starve very quickly.
