  1. I know two really good free ones: AVG Antivirus and Avira Antivirus.

    http://www.free-av.com/

    http://free.avg.com/

I suggest you run both, because no antivirus program is perfect, AVG might know some different viruses and Avira might know some different ones.

    Hope this helps!

  2. Antivir Personal Edition(Freeware)http://fileforum.betanews.com/detail/Ant...

  3. You will get better security from one program that you can buy. Kaspersky internet security is the best rated out there;

Try it here for a free 30 day trial; http://www.kaspersky.com/trials

Also check out these prices; http://shop.ebay.co.uk/items/Computing__...

  4. Download AVG from http://filehippo.com.  It is free, it updates auotmatically, and it uses less resources than Norton.  Honestly, they are all about the same.  People have their preferences, but they all work about the same.  Go for the free option.

  5. For Anti-Virus

             Avast Home Edition

    For Anti-Spyware

             Spybot S&D

    For a Firewall

             Comodo firewall

    For Memory Firewall

             Comodo Memory Firewall

    For Verification Engine

             Comodo Verification Engine

Hope that helps... BTW they are all free!!!

  6. If you are looking to buy then these are the best on the market>

    Kaspersky Internet Security 7.0

    Bitdefender

    NOD32

    Trend Micro Internet Security pro

    Spyware Doctor Internet Security

    Norton 360

    Filseclab Twister Anti Virus

    Shield Deluxe

  7. norton is good, but it's NOT FREE.

I use Avira Antivir Personal.. it's free.. and it's good. I have no complain about it.

Above all, most viruses come from the Internet, so protect your browser and watch out of spams.

    Defencing is better that curing.

  8. Kaspersky

  9. i use AVG, its free and works well for me, try it.

  10. Avg basic is free and supposed to be good yet i would reccomend macafee as it probly offers you better security

  11. I recommend AVG for free please download it here http://www.download.com/AVG-Anti-Virus-F...

  12. the three big players are avg, avast, and avira.  i have used all three at one point without any problems

  13. Norton.  Google it.

    DO NOT USE McAFEE!

  14. main problems with free antivirus solution that its usually stand alone packet ( just antivirus scan and no real time protection , no firewall , no antiphishing or spam guard ) and it means that you have to install few different vendor software .

Example if you use free AVG 8.0 antivirus you'll have to install additional firewall like Comodo , so if you feel like going through the hustle of finding and installing multiple solutions go ahead .

And if you are looking for cracked version of Norton , well good luck .

I know that there users complaining regarding Norton using allot off system resources , but I'm using Norton Internet Security suite for more than two years and haven't experienced any major issues related to Norton ( had McAffy before that and ....) , so if the money aint the big issue stick with Norton or chose Kaspersky , NOD , AVG professional .

Good luck and stay protected online

  15. The big three bosses OF free ones Are- Avast, Avg, Avira.

Just remember the 3 A's. Three Top A's.
