Which antibiotics are safe to take while breastfeeding?

Your obgyn should know which ones you can take but some of the more common ones are; Amoxicillin, Ampicillin, Augmentin, Dicloxicillin, Macrobid, and a few more that I cannot remember how to spell! ( LOL) Just remember to not take any medication unless your ob says it is okay!

amoxicillin and zithromax, same as when preggers

I'm allergic to PCN, which is commonly used while breastfeeding and/or pregnancies, along with it's 'brother' drug, Amoxicillin, so my doctor prescribed Cephalexin.  I was breast feeding during a couple rounds of it and pregnant during at least a couple rounds.  However, this is a question you need to discuss with your OB/GYN or your child's pediatrician, at least.

Amoxocillin is safe if it's needed. Most commonly prescribed antibiotic out there.
