Antivir is the only antivirus program that does not slow down even the slowest computer. I have a few really old computers. And I mean really old. (300Mhz processor) and I use antivir on them. I also use antivir on my 2Ghs laptop and there is absolutely no slow down on any computer. Oh, and this is also a free program. To learn windows secrets visit my website. I would say AVG. It only takes 32 megabytes While AVIRA Antivir takes 62 megabytes Although I can't say which is best. I would like to know myself.

I would say go with Avast.  It's FREE (for home use), top rated, and it uses very little resources.

I am a PC repair tech and have installed it on hundreds of computers and I even use it on my own personal computer.

Do a search in some of the PC Magazines and you will see it is one of the top rated Anti Virus programs....Being free for home use is just a plus.
