Which apple macbook for musician?

I play the guitar and I am seriously looking into buying a macbook. I am almost sold on a 2.4 ghz macbook but I need to know if its worth it to shell out the extra 400 bucks for the macbook pro for a musician. Is the macbook pro more benefitial to the musician? Can a macbook do what a macbook pro does for a musician? I already know about the graphics difference (that doesn't worry me), but the basic question is how much more is recieved out of a macbook pro compared to a macbook for a musician?

The Pro has digital-optical audio in/outs which will allow for digital to digital recording (not a big deal for the guitar but if you're planning on recoding from a digital source this will come in handy. also useful with a miniDisc recorder or DAT recorder).

For pro-audio the MacBook Pro is the way to go, but it really depends on how far you want to take it, if you're just using analog equipment and basic software the MacBook will do fine. If you want to involve music video production, high end audio software and digital sources then you should add the extra cash and go for the Pro.

macbook pro i have a macbook its the cheapest thing ever made the worst material the battery latch fell off and the palm rests cracked.  the macbook pro is titanium and is tough and very good

I would just say get a pc cuz garage band aint that great and the programs are more avalible but if ur sold on mac its defiinately worth the extra 400

If you are a serious musician then get a pc. Pc's have double or even triple the performance than mac's have for the same price. I would recommend Adobe Audition for the pc.
