  2. Most styles of Karate including Shoto-kan, kempo and Goju. Most styles of Judo, Aikido, Jui-Jitsu and Sumo wrestling. Most styles of archery, sword-fighting and horsemanship fighting using spears, archery weapons and other devices. Some of these were learned from the Chinese by Japanese soldiers who invaded China. Ninjitsu is also a martial art of Japan. I'll bet if you do a Google search you could discover 100 or so lesser known styles. Many of these are no longer taught.

  8. There are more Japanese martial arts than anyone can possibly list here. In Feudal times in Japan there were literally thousands of Ryu/styles/schools of combat arts.

    Nobunaga listed some but that does not even scratch the surface of the subject.   After nearly 41 years of martial arts training I'm still finding new names of old Japanese arts.
