Which are cheaper apartments and flats?

i realy want an apartment, but i dont know if its more expensive than a flat, an could someone tell me the difference between them

It is dangerous to want something, just because you want it.

You should only buy property in the UK if you have about 5 times of the property price on your bank account so that it wont hurt if it looses its value.

Same thing. Americans usually call them apartments, British udually call them flats. However, i have noticed in the UK an increasing trend in new developments to use the word Apartment.  it is like the trend now in UK to call a Terraced House a Town House.
