  1. either way be prepared for plenty of eep eep

  2. i have two cockatiels and somtimes they NEVER shut up. i dont like them. if your gonna get them be sure you have time to take care of them. if you get two theyre bound to like eachother rather than like you. but seriously there a pain and they can easily be untamed.

  3. well i had a lutino cockatiel and a peach faced lovebird for a fair test and answer was peach faced lovebird...

peach faced lovebird: peach faced love birds scream and wistle allot and they are so anyyoing and there bites are so hard it rips your skin of (if you pick them up) and they bite not so hard when you put your finger near there beak...

lutino cockatiel: lutino cockatiel bites hard if you put your finger/hand in the cage and they are not that loud as a lovebird so i suggest you get any cockatiel handreared and then you teach it at low age...

    thanks allot

    wadi

    owner of 7 birds

    2 peach faced lovebird

    2 lutino cockatiel

    1 scarlet macaw

    1 green winged macaw

    1 blue and gold macaw

  4. OK cocktails are louder and more dangerous cuz they like to bite and cuz of their size they bite hard. Love birds do bite but only wen they are annoyed..and this is weird but my love bird is stuck up cuz of the way i raised her (my bad) so she bites a bit. Now where to buy one is either you go to someone who breeds them b/c they don't bite b/c they are hand fed. or go to a little shop that's like not a major place just a little hole in the wall type place and ask for a hand fed love bird.

    i hope i helped

  5. Definitely love birds!  You should get a canary.  They have a lovely sound even when they aren't singing!

  6. As an owner of both a lutino peach faced lovebird AND a pied cockateil, I can easily say they are equally noisy. And they both require LOTS of attention. If you want a quiet bird that requires little then I suggest a stuffed one. Anyone looking to start owning birds needs to realize that they are social creatures, whether with another bird or birds, or with their human counterparts.  I spend alot of time with my birds, as does every member of the family. They love to sit and eat with us, and will usually eat just about anything we do (the healthy stuff that is, and NO MEAT!).

I guess what I'm saying is, they all are fairly noisy. If you want a quiet bird I'd go with a parakeet or maybe a finch. At least when they tweet it's quiet. My two guys are never quiet, except when they are sleeping!

  7. Hi,

Cockatiels are quieter and they are better as pets as you can tame them better than lovebirds and there are more of them for sale.

  8. I have had both. In my experience the Lovebird was by far WAY louder than the cockatiel. Worse yet, when I had both at the same time my nice quiet Cockatiel picked up the screeching of the lovebirds! It was horrible. I think it's a personal preference. I just can't handle that screeching. The cockatiel that I have now is really good. It's a male and we have taught him several songs. So if he does start to make any unpleasant sounds, we just start whistling a song and he goes from there. He also imitates the phone ringing, the microwave beeping, doorbell, timer etc. He also makes "kisses" and says something that sounds like pretty boy. It's pretty cute.

Now I also have finches, Lady Gouldians and Society's they are awesome. They have a beautiful quiet song. they cheep quietly amongst themselves. From here on out, I will only have finches.

  9. of course cockatiels bcause they are bigger parrots and they need more attention on the other hand love birds are takken in pairs  bcause they are small so they dont want too much  human company!!but if you are going to buy a bird i would suggest you the cockatiel because they live longer and they can have bonds with you much easier than the lovebirds!
