I use to drink mineral water containing some lemon juice in it,it makes it tasty and refreshing.I just heard it can damage internal organs. Why would this happen? Also I sometimes eat strongly spiced food(I use mostly mashed fresh cayenne pepper).Could there be a damage to internal organs, resulting from large intakes of mushed fresh cayenne pepper?Of lemon juice? If so,which damage can take place?

  1. bad guts for sure. Bad breath, tooth decay, bad wind fromboth ends, bad skin

The lsit is endless and these are things that are probably minor compared to what doctors will say

  2. Gas and heartburn at the worse.  But your stomach acid is stronger than what you eat and should break it down.  Lemon juice in water and cayenne pepper is ok as long as your body does not react to it.  Your body has built in safety features.  If the food is too strong, your stomach will get rid of it before more damage is done. The food will come out the same way it went in.  If you feel sick after eating then your stomach will give you some pain to let you know not to eat too much of that food next time.

  3. It's hard on your digestive and urinary systems. It has to do with PH balance: http://biomedx.com/microscopes/rrintro/r...

  4. If by "damaging internal organs" you mean damaging the esophagus (tube from your mouth to your stomach) the answer is yes, but indirectly. Acidic drinks, spicy food, among other things (like greasy food) can increase the amount of times you have heartburn. You may get acid reflux (which is basically frequent heartburn... at least 1-2 times per week). If you get acid reflux, which is basically when the sphincter (valve-like) muscle between your esophagus and stomach that keeps food in your stomach as it churns and digests your food opens on accident and c**p from your stomach goes into your esophagus. Your esophagus doesn't have the acid protection your stomach has so it basically burns. Burning = damage. It's actually your own stomach acid (HCl plus pepsin) that messes up your esophagus. It can increase the probability of getting things like esophageal cancer.

But for foods, it just basically depends on the person. Experiment. If you don't feel too good, don't eat it anymore. For me, when I eat super spicy foods I don't have heartburn. However when I eat creamy/oily Italian food (ex: Alfredo) I get major heartburn. If you don't get any weird feelings (it doesn't have to feel like burning, in me it feels like there is a bubble in my chest and it feels similar to nausea) in your chest after you eat, you are A-OK and can eat pretty much whatever you want.

I'm assuming from the lemon juice + cayenne pepper you are doing the master cleanse, correct? Let me just tell you part of the book is TOTAL BS. Which part? the burning poo = cleanse. Not the case. Your poo burns when you eat spicy foods--just eat a ton of something like kim-chee even with a bunch of crappy food like McDonalds and your poo will burn... its from undigested capsaicin (the chemical that makes food spicy... also used in pepper spray... whenever it hits sensitive skin like butts/groin, eyes or underneath the fingernails--which has happened to me--it burns like mo-fo).

  5. acidic foods can lead to ulcer which creates a hole in your stomach.

spicy foods can lead to high blood pressure and constipation.

if you experience a sour pain in your stomach then stop drinking acidic drinks

if you get dizzy after eatng something spicy also stop.

  6. gout
