I've got a panasonic DVD recorder I use to record onto disc  from video.   works fine  and can edit  and split into chapters etc,    Cost about £400. That was nearly 3 years ago. Probably cheaper now,

I have one Goodmans(cheap)but problems.Then bought one Panasonic, no problems.
