White blood cells change shape which allows them to move through tissues throughout the body to go to sites of bacteria or infection.

The pH should be between 7.35 and 7.45, the normal pH of the body.  The body maintains stringent homeostasis on pH because being outside the boundaries for any length of time at all can result in death.  Liver cells live for 2-3 days, I believe if I remember right from A & P.
