I bought a cucumber today, and I thought it was an English one (I'm pretty sure those have the nice skin)...anyhow...now that's home and I'm looking...it isn't marked.

How do you tell what kind it is?

  1. and you tell me which cucumber you can,t eat the skin because basically all mend to be eaten

  2. cucumbers wrapped in plastic.

  3. English.  But I eat all the skin, unless I test it and it is tough, in which case, I use a carrot peeler to remove it.  I hear some people remove the seeds of cucumbers.  Good grief!

  4. As far as I know you can eat all cucumber skins, I know I do. If you want to identify your cucumber google images and look for similar products.

  5. English cucumbers, most times they are wrapped in plastic, longer  and cost more than the regular cucumbers =)

  6. I believe they are seedless.

  7. You bought a seedless cucumber, which could come from England or Canada. They are rarely marked but sold in shrink wrap plastic..You would have paid between $2 and $2.50 for it...

Of course you can eat the skin....However, some are a little to hard me at times so I cut it off.

It's kind of like each his own when it comes to skin.

  8. English cucumbers are thinner skinned and taste better than the thicker skinned pickling kind. some cucumbers have been dipped in paraffin and you really don't want to eat that
