More than factories i think the roads are our biggest concerns, we live by roads, travel, spend most of our time.

Only if we could do something about it... or can we!

CAUSES:

the temples, mosques and churches(religious factories producing sacred noise pollution?)

Apathetic citizens and their (well maintained!) vehicles.

Small scale and hazardous industries that is spread uniformly in the city.

MEASURES:

Depleted pollution control board(filled with personnel who dont know what pollution is).

Poor enforcement.

Corruption.

These measures can be substituted for causes as well.

Just because of the cost of operation of a factory in a city...Chennai does not have too many factories located in the city...

The only few factories that I have known in Chennai is the leather factory in Pallavaram...this factory does not cause noise pollution but produces contaminated water and hence Pallavaram was never developed as a residential area...

The main cause for noise pollution in Chennai is

- The traffic   and

-Political party meeting and public prosessions...

Thr is no such causes for this.

Thr is no measure to reduce. rather we can use 2 buds of cotton to shut our ears :)
